PeerGuardian 2 - Phoenix Labs - A Windows application for blocking unwanted items in Peer-to-Peer transfers o communications. Good for preserving privacy on P2P networking.
Peer-to-Peer (shorted P2P) architecture or networking communication defines a type of network where each workstation has the same or equivalent capabilities and responsibilities. Unlike client/server systems or networks, where some computers are dedicated to serve the others connected to them. Every station in the P2P net stays connected to the other components, so there are a many possibilities of getting unwanted items from that network. There is an specific part of every station hard disk drive that can be read or written from the network, and the risk of being infected is very high.
Each and every workstation must have a security system for avoiding the possibility of getting infected or making some other infected.
PeerGuardian 2 is Open Source code, so the program code is available online for anyone who wants to see it or edit it. It also allows to make changes for attach it to other applications or projects, as well as, for those with enough knowledge, for modifying or eliminating any detected bug. included.
